All you need is love

"You may not be her first, her last, or her only.
She loved before she may love again.
But if she loves you now, what else matters?
She's not perfect - you aren't either.
The two of you may never be perfect together,
but if she can make you laugh,
cause you to think twice,
and admit to being human and making mistakes,
hold onto her and give her the most you can.
She may not be thinking about you every second of the day,
but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break - her heart.
So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze.
And don't expect more than she can give.
Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad,
& miss her when she's not there."
- Bob Marley
“And you’re the prettiest lady in the whole wide world. Now I know why the leaves change in the fall. I know you were on my side, even when I was wrong and I love you for giving me your eyes, for sitting back and watching me shine. I don’t know if you know, so I’m taking this chance to say that I had the best days with you.” love you, always.

What do you give to the woman that’s given you everything?

To sit here and watch her fight for life, to see her labored breathing and watch the life slowly drain from her. I have only one thought: this is not the woman I know. My grandmother is strong. She is lovable, and spunky, and full of life.
If you know my grandmother you know that there is no such thing as too much salt. You know that “an aunt Esther slice” usually means 1/4 of the cake. You know that going over town is basically a holiday, and a trip to the dollar tree is a real treat. If you know my grandmother you know that every male that walks through the door, no matter age, occupation, intention, whatever, will be referred to as John Henry or Ajax. You know that a portion of food is “just this much”, and that the soap operas are all full of crooks and hussies. If you know my grandmother you know that when you’re doing well you’re cookin with oil, and that liquor is the devil in liquid form. You know not to question her, you know not to sass. You understand that no matter what she WILL try to give you food, and no matter how far away you are when you call she’ll ask “do you need some money?”. You know that no one EVER leaves the house without at least a drink or a full belly, and that if you come in the front door, by the grace of God that’s how you’ll exit. You know that there’s nothing in the world like a Juanita Rhodes entrance. You know that she has dozens of boyfriends (most are married) and could charm a brick wall. If you know my grandmother you know that she would give anything, ANYTHING, for someone in need. She would take any illness, any disease, and take it upon herself so you wouldn’t have to suffer. She would give you the shirt off her back, the money in her pocket, her bed, her food, anything.
Now how do I watch this woman that I’ve lived with for twenty years waste away. The change from yesterday to today is so obvious, it’s clear that she doesn’t have long in this world. We try to make her comfortable, but she still seems to be in so much pain. I sing, and we pray, and we remember. But nothing will be able to fill this hole in our hearts. Most people are blessed with one mother, I’ve been lucky enough to have two. My beautiful grandmother has done nothing but give, my entire life, and now I don’t know how to repay her.
Sleep sweet my Juany. Know that we’re all here and love you, and if the Lord takes you tonight know that you will never be forgotten. I carry your heart with me, always, and I will never forget what you have taught me. Be sweet, always. Love, your baby

Likeeeee cool dude, you can hashtag a tweet #setonsluts when you know a whopping two people that went to seton, me and my best friend? Either way it’s not amusing, you’re a mother now… You should probably start acting like it.
